Siri on Nvidia Chips and iPhone 18 Pro Colors: What to Expect at WWDC 2026

Apple is gearing up for one of its most important weeks of the year. WWDC 2026 kicks off on June 8, and the company is ready to unveil a renewed ecosystem driven by artificial intelligence. The latest leaks indicate that the keynote centerpiece will be a revamped Siri, powered by a cloud infrastructure relying on Nvidia Blackwell B200 chips hosted in Google data centers. This is an unprecedented move for Apple, which has always sought to control every critical component of its products. According to The Information, the decision stemmed from the slow performance of Apple's internal Private Cloud Compute servers based on its own chips, which could not efficiently run Google's Gemini language models. The agreement ensures user data remains encrypted thanks to Nvidia's hardware-based confidential computing technology.

On the hardware front, excitement builds around the first leaks of iPhone 18 Pro colors. Images posted on the Korean blog Naver show chassis in three shades: Dark Cherry, Light Blue, and Dark Gray. A Silver option is also rumored but not yet pictured. The Pro Max model will reportedly maintain the same 8.75mm thickness, as confirmed by leaker Ice Universe, but could feature a larger battery capacity between 5,100 and 5,200 mAh. Other expected updates include a possibly smaller Dynamic Island, a next-generation C2 modem, and an upgraded main camera with variable aperture. The official unveiling is expected in September alongside Apple's first foldable iPhone.

Privacy and Safari as Anti-Chrome Weapon

Meanwhile, Apple launched a new ad campaign putting Safari front and center on privacy. The spot shows Android users being followed by chrome-clad trackers, a clear jab at Chrome. Apple highlights that Safari blocks third-party cookies by default, uses machine learning to fight tracking, and hides IP addresses from known trackers. A strong message at a time when competition over personal data is increasingly fierce.

Implications for Developers and Users

For developers, Apple's choice to adopt Nvidia chips marks an epochal shift: those building for the Apple ecosystem will have to contend with a heterogeneous AI backend where third-party hardware plays a key role. Users, on the other hand, can expect a much more responsive and context-aware Siri, finally living up to the promises made two years ago. WWDC 2026 will be a decisive test to prove that Apple Intelligence is not just a mirage.
