In this context, a group of doctoral students, led by a solitary genius named Elias Thorne, worked in a university lab in Palo Alto. Thorne, a mathematician with an obsessive passion for predictive models, was trying to create an algorithm capable of anticipating stock market trends. His obsession was such that he lived in symbiosis with his servers, giving up sleep and social relationships.

Elias was not alone. He was assisted by Eleanor Vance, a brilliant programmer whose computer expertise was matched only by her audacity. Eleanor, with her flaming red hair and eyebrow piercing, was the driving force behind the interface, the one who made the theory tangible.
