Adobe just added Nano Banana Pro to Photoshop

[2026-03-30] Author: Ing. Calogero Bono
Adobe has just added Nano Banana Pro to Photoshop, and for those working with Generative Fill, it's a small revolution. Google's image model, born as an extension of Gemini 3, lands inside the world's most famous photo editing app and can be selected directly as an alternative engine to Firefly.

What changes in Photoshop with Nano Banana Pro

The Google Nano Banana Pro model now also appears in the Generative Fill panel alongside Firefly and other partners. Essentially, when you select an area of the image and write a prompt, you can decide whether to have Adobe's engine or Google's engine do the work, with the latter focusing heavily on subject consistency, text rendering, and graphic details. For those doing compositing, mockups, or social media creativity, it's an immediate upgrade.

Who can try it immediately and where to find it

The integration is rolling out these days for subscribers to Creative Cloud Pro and Firefly plans: in addition to Nano Banana Pro, unlimited generations with all partner models are available until December 1st. To use it, simply update Photoshop to the latest version, open Generative Fill, and choose the Google model from the dropdown menu; on some workstations, the option may appear with a few hours' delay because activation is server-side.

Why this integration is important

For Adobe, it's a political as well as a technical step: after years of pushing only Firefly, Photoshop is increasingly becoming a platform where third-party models come and go like plugins. For users, it means more choice and better results, but also confirmation that the race for the best AI for images is now played out within the tools we use every day, no longer just in experimental browser apps. The technical details are also listed on the official Adobe page dedicated to Nano Banana.
