A new report from Indian industry sources suggests that OxygenOS and Realme UI, the software interfaces of OnePlus and Realme, will be phased out in the coming months. According to Smartprix, citing an Oppo insider, the parent company has planned an aggressive restructuring that will fully integrate OnePlus and Realme under the Oppo brand, migrating all existing smartphones to ColorOS.
The similarity with ColorOS made the transition inevitable
In recent years, OxygenOS has gradually lost its identity, effectively becoming a fork of ColorOS. As early as the OnePlus Nord 2, the software was based on Oppo's build, and the differences have become almost imperceptible. This evolution has led many analysts to consider the discontinuation of OxygenOS as a logical and expected step.
