Apple is facing a new lawsuit from three customers who allegedly lost a combined $1.8 million after falling victim to a fake Bitcoin wallet app in the App Store. The plaintiffs, James Ramirez, Christopher Ellis, and Jalen Delgado, had their cryptocurrency stolen after downloading what they believed was the official Sparrow Wallet app. According to the complaint, Ramirez lost Bitcoin worth approximately $875,000, Ellis lost $840,000, and Delgado lost $120,000. Sparrow Wallet is a legitimate Bitcoin wallet but is only available on Windows, macOS, and Linux, not on iOS. Scammers created identical counterfeit versions, tricking users into handing over control of their funds. The lawsuit states that victims found their accounts emptied and assets transferred to the scammers' private wallets.
