Google Wallet is rolling out a new order tracking feature that pulls purchase details directly from Gmail, turning the app into a comprehensive dashboard for online shopping. The update, currently hitting users in the United States, displays upcoming deliveries right on the Wallet homepage, alongside cards and passes.
A dedicated orders section on the Wallet homepage
When a delivery is expected, a new card appears at the bottom of the card carousel on the main screen. Tapping it opens a detailed view that lists purchased items with images from the original email, a link to that message, and handy tracking information. Users can also delete any order from this page. Back on the homepage, the "View more" floating action button reveals a new orders carousel under the Transactions section, with a list view for browsing the full order history.
The feature leverages smart features in Google Workspace to extract receipts, tracking numbers, and shipping status from Gmail. To enable it, users must ensure that "Smart features in other Google products" is turned on in their Gmail account settings. Google states that the system works with a large number of top US merchants, but it may not display orders from smaller or non-US stores.

How to access and manage order tracking
All order information is also available on wallet.google.com under the Transactions tab > Orders. The app highlights orders arriving today or currently in transit at the top of the list. From the order detail screen, users can tap the trash icon to remove an order from Wallet. This integration makes it much easier to keep tabs on multiple purchases without sifting through email inboxes.
The rollout follows a recent homepage redesign for Google Wallet, which already introduced features like the ability to view smartwatch purchases on your phone. With this update, Wallet becomes a more central hub for daily transactions and logistics. The order tracking feature is a natural extension that helps users monitor their shopping from one place.

Availability and future expansion
Currently, the feature is only available in the US. Google has not announced a timeline for international expansion, but given the widespread use of Gmail, it is likely to reach other markets eventually. For now, US users can enjoy a streamlined way to track packages directly from their digital wallet.
