iPhone 18 Pro Says Goodbye to Titanium and 10 Other Features Revealed by Leakers in May 2026

The rumor mill surrounding Apple is churning with two contrasting stories about the future of the Pro iPhone models. On one side, a leaker known as Fixed Focus Digital categorically denies a return to titanium frames for the flagship devices. On the other, ten key features for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro emerge ahead of its September launch. Adding to the mix, the M5 MacBook Air has hit a new all-time low price on Amazon.

Aluminum and AI: Why Titanium Won't Return on Pro iPhones

The first leak comes from the Chinese social network Weibo. The leaker Fixed Focus Digital stated that Pro iPhones will not return to using titanium in the near future, and the reason lies in the thermal management of on-device artificial intelligence. According to their analysis, aluminum's conductive properties make it the only practical choice for dissipating heat generated by local AI processing, an issue that affects Apple, Android, and Huawei HarmonyOS alike. This position contradicts an earlier report by Instant Digital, which claimed Apple was exploring liquid metal or improved titanium alloys for future models, including the foldable iPhone. However, Fixed Focus Digital insists that aluminum is now deeply embedded in Cupertino's plans, at least until 2027. The iPhone 18 Pro is therefore expected to retain the same aluminum unibody design seen on the iPhone 17 Pro models, as we previously detailed in our article on the foldable iPhone and its production challenges. The choice of aluminum is not just about cost but a technical necessity to ensure sustained AI performance without overheating.

Ten Key Features Expected for the iPhone 18 Pro

Despite the exterior design remaining largely unchanged, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will feature substantial innovations under the hood. Here are the ten most anticipated features according to rumors collected up to May 2026. The Dynamic Island will become smaller thanks to moving Face ID's flood illuminator under the screen. Displays will adopt LTPO+ technology for even greater energy efficiency. The main 48-megapixel Fusion Camera will introduce a variable aperture for more precise depth-of-field control. The new A20 Pro chip will be Apple's first built on TSMC's 2-nanometer process, promising a generational leap in performance and power efficiency. The custom C2 modem will support 5G via satellite, enabling web browsing without Wi-Fi or cellular. The N2 chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread will further improve local connectivity. The Camera Control button will be simplified, losing touch sensitivity but retaining pressure sensitivity. The rear Ceramic Shield area for MagSafe will have a more frosted, seamless appearance. Finally, the special color will be Dark Cherry, alongside Light Blue, Dark Gray, and Silver. Apple has been testing these solutions for months, and the integration with artificial intelligence will be the common thread throughout the user experience, further emphasizing the need for efficient thermal management as provided by aluminum. New All-Time Low Price for the M5 MacBook Air

Alongside the iPhone rumors, good news arrives for those seeking an Apple laptop. Amazon has cut the price of the 13-inch M5 MacBook Air with 512GB of storage to $899.99, marking a new record low. The discount of approximately $200 off the list price is available in all colors. The 1TB models also benefit from a $149 reduction, hitting their lowest prices ever. This deal makes the M5 MacBook Air an even more attractive choice for professionals and students, especially at a time when Apple is strengthening its lineup with increasingly integrated hardware and software solutions.
