YouTuber Jon Prosser has officially responded to Apple's lawsuit over the iOS 26 leaks, shifting much of the blame onto acquaintance Michael Ramacciotti. The case, which has captivated the tech world, sees Prosser denying any coordinated conspiracy and holding Ramacciotti fully responsible for disclosing alleged trade secrets.

Prosser denies conspiracy but admits FaceTime call with Ramacciotti

In court documents filed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Prosser acknowledged participating in a FaceTime video call during which Ramacciotti showed him features and apps running on a development iPhone running iOS 19 (later renamed iOS 26). However, the YouTuber firmly denied planning or joining any conspiracy to harm Apple. Prosser's defense argues that Ramacciotti voluntarily displayed the information without any solicitation from Prosser. Prosser also stated he never knew the device belonged to former Apple software engineer Ethan Lipnik and that he does not possess any further confidential Apple information.

Apple had sued the duo for trade secret theft

Cupertino-based Apple filed the lawsuit in July 2025, alleging that Prosser and Ramacciotti conspired to break into Lipnik's development iPhone to access and profit from details about iOS 19, which leaked months before WWDC 2025. An anonymous tipster later alerted Apple, leading to Lipnik's termination and the legal action. Now Prosser is requesting a jury trial on all claims. His legal team emphasized that Ramacciotti is solely responsible for the harm caused to Prosser, seeking full liability for the disclosure. Notably, the court document contains several typos, including the phrase "Prosser has not knowledge" and the repeated name "Prosser Michael Ramacciotti." This development follows earlier coverage of Jon Prosser denying conspiracy. For more on trade secret law, see Wikipedia.
