Samsung today announced the beta launch of its new AI Assistant integrated into the Samsung Health app, an intelligent chatbot designed to help users better understand their wellness data. The service is available to a limited number of eligible US users, but the company has already unveiled ambitious plans to extend its capabilities into a professional physician portal built around the recent acquisition of Xealth. This move marks a significant step in the digital health space, where Samsung aims to differentiate itself by leveraging the entire Galaxy ecosystem. The new Health Assistant can pull data from Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Ring, and smartphones, focusing on five key areas: sleep, activity, nutrition, mindfulness, and vitals. The goal is to provide recommendations validated by a team of physicians and certified health coaches, helping users detect hidden patterns. Unlike similar offerings from Whoop or Fitbit, Samsung leverages the Galaxy ecosystem: for example, if a user turns off smart lights late at night, the assistant can flag the potential impact on sleep. In the future, the system will be able to suggest breathing exercises before a work meeting, integrating with the personal calendar and other smart home devices. The assistant does not offer medical advice or diagnoses but limits itself to interpreting collected data and suggesting lifestyle changes.
