Gears of War fans can finally mark their calendars. The Coalition has officially announced that the first multiplayer gameplay footage for Gears of War: E-Day will be revealed on July 30, 2026, at 9:00 am ET on Xbox's official YouTube channel. The showcase will give players their first look at both cooperative and competitive modes.
12-player Horde mode and 4v4 PvP confirmed
According to Xbox Wire, the game will feature a 12-player PvE Horde mode, a larger and more intense evolution of the fan-favorite mode from Gears of War 2. Players must work together to fend off waves of Locust across massive city maps, with new traversal mechanics and chaotic friendly fire possibilities. The PvP mode will be 4v4 on classic symmetrical maps, enhanced with new movement options. Both modes will contribute to seasonal challenges, events, and achievements, with a content roadmap planned for regular updates.
