Apple has unveiled three major updates that reshape the user experience across its platforms. With tvOS 27, Apple Music now fully supports Hi-Res Lossless audio on Apple TV 4K, reaching up to 24-bit/192 kHz, far beyond the standard Lossless 48 kHz available in tvOS 26. Subscribers can enjoy studio-quality sound through compatible external speakers. A developer beta is already available, with a public release planned for the fall. Stricter App Store guidelines target low-effort apps
Apple has updated its App Store Review Guidelines, specifically section 4.3 Spam. The new language is explicit: apps in saturated categories (dating, flashlights, sound effects, wallpapers, simple timers, fortune telling) will be rejected unless they offer a meaningfully different or improved experience. Apps deemed mediocre or low-effort, such as drinking games, Kama Sutra, fart, and burp apps, may be removed entirely. The updated rule 4.3(b) also states that apps not updated, improved, or attracting customers can be pulled. Repeated submissions may lead to removal from the Apple Developer Program. Additionally, the 1.2 guideline on user-generated content now holds developers responsible for removing violating content, with immediate app removal for egregious cases. Live Activities are also banned from being used for spam or phishing.
