The economic rationale behind the move
Beyond creative motivations, there is a significant financial aspect. Microsoft has already generated hundreds of millions of dollars by bringing other games to PS5, and the Halo move follows the same logic. Former CEOs Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond initiated this strategy, while new CEO Asha Sharma has suggested a possible return to more exclusives in the future. However, veteran Brian Jarrard stated that Halo games will continue to come to PlayStation.
What Campaign Evolved offers and upcoming titles
Campaign Evolved is a faithful yet improved remake of the original Halo, with upgraded graphics and new prequel missions. It does not include multiplayer, focusing solely on the campaign. Early access is reserved for those who buy the premium edition for $70, while the standard edition at $50 unlocks on July 28. Game Pass subscribers can play with their subscription and purchase a $20 upgrade for early access. Future titles include remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3, plus a new live-service game built with Unreal Engine.
