Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, refining its premium smartwatch with a thinner profile, a significantly larger battery, and a brighter display while retaining the rugged aesthetic. The new model targets outdoor enthusiasts and everyday users alike, delivering tangible upgrades under the hood.
A slimmer build without sacrificing durability
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 maintains the bold look of its predecessor but trims the thickness by approximately 10 percent. This was achieved through internal component redesign while keeping the MIL-STD-810H certification and IP68 waterproof rating. The grade 5 titanium case has been lightened, making the watch more comfortable for extended wear. As Samsung emphasized, the design remains purpose-built for the outdoors, with larger physical buttons and an improved rotating digital crown for easier gloved use.
Bigger battery and a 3000-nit Super AMOLED display
One of the most significant upgrades is the battery. Samsung increased capacity by 20 percent, resulting in up to 4 days of typical use and 12 days in power-saving mode. In hands-on testing, the watch delivered over 40 hours of continuous GPS tracking. The 1.5-inch Super AMOLED screen now peaks at 3000 nits, offering excellent sunlight readability. Samsung also added an automatic night mode that reduces brightness and glare for comfortable sleep tracking.

New features for adventure seekers
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 introduces exclusive outdoor features. The Route Planner allows users to create custom trails directly on the watch, with turn-by-turn navigation and alerts on elevation and difficulty. A new barometric altimeter delivers 98 percent accuracy in altitude readings. For emergencies, the Emergency Siren emits a 120dB sound, while Medical ID can auto-trigger after a hard fall detection. The updated BioActive sensor now measures body composition, heart rate, and SpO2 with improved precision.
